RCA Ministry Candidates in 2011 at Lowest Level in Over a Decade
A number of candidates have withdrawn from the MFCA because they have decided the RCA is not a good fit for them. Most of these individuals tend to be more conservative
A graph provided by the Reformed Church in America's Ministerial Formation Certification Agency shows enrollment and Certificate of Fitness for Ministry trends from 2004 to 2011 in a graphic released on October 2, 2012. Enrolment in 2011 was down to its lowest level in more than a decade, the MFCA reported.
A Balanced Evangelical View of America’s Founding
It would be problematic to deny the deep Christian (or at least theistic) influence on the Founders’ intellectual world.
While not every Founding Father was a Bible believer, they all lived in a Bible-suffused milieu. And while faith was hardly their only inspiration, Christian principles heavily informed the Founders’ beliefs in equality, liberty, and the nature of the American republic.

She was born with a condition called Lissencephaly, a condition that left her profoundly disabled. She was a blessing to all who knew her. In fact, a few years ago, Joni Eareckson Tada produced a short TV program that showed how Shannon and her family handled disability in light of the sovereignty of God

Why PCA Northwest Georgia Presbytery Voted Against the BCO 42 and 43 Proposed Amendments
Arguments and a plea to Presbyteries not to approve the proposed BCO 42 and 43 amendments
Let’s not lend a hand to litigiousness and simply keep the BCO as it is on these uniform filing deadlines. The present 30 days allows plenty of time for reasonable filings of Complaints and Appeals. A vote AGAINST these 3 proposals is a vote FOR closure and for reasonable support for Sessions to do the... Continue Reading
The Culture War Is Here, Whether We Like It or Not!
There is a cultural war to engage even if some are opposed to Christian political involvement on theological grounds
Simply put, a refusal to engage the cultural and political issues of the day is no longer an option for thoughtful conservative Christians in America. The battle has been forced upon us. Reasons for this have to do with current political realities, especially the wholesale shift of administrative power to a technocratic elite with a... Continue Reading
Same-Sex Parenting: Can We Honestly Pursue Truth?
The need to use and evaluate studies honestly, especially those touching on moral beliefs
The scientific and moral issues are complex. They need to be addressed honestly without claims of scientific misconduct whenever a researcher reaches conclusions that some do not like. Similarly, imperfect studies should not be championed as the final word by people longing to justify their moral beliefs with science. How about an honest pursuit of... Continue Reading
Reproduction: Does American Presbyterianism Have a Future?
Without physical and spiritual reproduction American Presbyterianism’s future is dim
All this to point out that American Presbyterianism is rapidly aging and, well, dying. It doesn’t much matter what your theology is if you don’t have a future generation to bequeath it to. The barrenness and sterility that we see in American Presbyterian churches is in sharp contrast to what we see in Malawian Presbyterian... Continue Reading
Study on Sports and Religion Released
How Americans react to religious expressions of professional athletes
A new study finds that few Americans react negatively when professional athletes express their religious beliefs, such as talking about their religious faith in post-game interviews or making religious signs or gestures on the field of play. The quarterback starts his post-game interview by thanking “my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” The small forward... Continue Reading
