The folks at Marco Presbyterian Church (PCA) gave wings to their motto: “taking the gospel of Jesus, across the island, across the bridge and across the sea” when a team of 15 flew to Bucerias, Mexico on May 17 with Kids Around the World.
Kids Around the World is a faith-based, non-profit mission organization with a commitment to reach children worldwide for Jesus. They bring joy and hope to children by building playgrounds. They also manufacture and provide Jesus film flannel graphs to teachers and others who work with children.
In April the organization installed two playgrounds at the Love-A-Child orphanage in Haiti.
The team from Marco Presbyterian was commissioned on May 16 with prayer and the laying on of hands by the pastors, elders and deacons of the church. The Rev. Paul May prayed that, “They would bring the good news in word and deed to Bucerias, Mexico.”
The team consisted primarily of young at heart retirees and people still in the work force. The youngest team member was 12-year-old homeschooler Kaydee Nantz. Her father is an elder in the church.
Bucerias, Mexico is 11 miles north of the popular resort city of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific coast.
