Tennessee native Nancy French returns to her hometown of Paris, Tenn., Saturday to sign copies of her and her husband’s new book, “Home and Away: A Story of a Family in a Time of War.” They attend Zion Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Columbia.
The book reveals David and Nancy French’s journey from normal family life to something a lot more dangerous when David — a 37-year-old Harvard law graduate and president of a free speech organization — trades his briefcase for an M4 rifle, leaving behind his wife Nancy and two kids. Neither a political diatribe nor a foxhole memoir, “Home and Away” uses humor, transparency and humility to tell the story of a family’s experience at war. An author and political commentator, Nancy French now lives in Columbia with her husband and their three children.
Nancy is the co-author of Bristol Palin’s new book “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far,” the author of “Red State of Mind: How a Catfish Queen Reject Became a Liberty Belle” and the editor of SixSeeds.tv. In addition to writing books and magazine articles, she also assists celebrities in telling their own memoirs. She co-founded the grassroots political website EvangelicalsforMitt.com along with David and friends.
David is a captain in the U.S. Army and a senior counsel with the American Center for Law and Justice. French has practiced law since 1994 and graduated with honors from Harvard Law School…
